With a 180 degree view of the Sea of Cortez, this small, twelve room ReTreat overlooks the uninhabited and majestic Isla Cerralvo. It has its own infinity pool, large circular yoga room, the Kalal Spa, and a beautiful restaurant with indoor and open air seating and an exquisite menu. We love the relaxed vibe of this little Southern Baja town, El Sargento... the people, the friendly staff that makes us feel at home, the desert landscape… we look forward to you enjoying it all.

Beautiful white and turquoise sea-view rooms invite you, each with the highest quality luxurious bedding and floor-to-celing sliding doors offering you open air views of the Sea of Cortez. The sustainably built contemporary designs are all similar with small decks or patios overlooking zen-style rock gardens, in-bloom desert vegetation and steps from your dining room, infinity pool and pool-side lounges.   

Evolutionary Yoga is offered twice daily in Casa Tara's large yoga room with wood floors and palapa roof. Our ReTreats offer you two yoga classes daily (the morning—more dynamic; the afternoon—more restorative). Meditation (sitting and walking) and Inner Journey exploration complete your day of classes. Morning coffee and three meals daily are served at Casa Tara's restaurant. Their innovative menu and unique spin on traditional local cuisine (and their incredible chef!) receive constant raves. You can also enjoy everything else Baja has to offer--swimming, snorkeling, stand up paddling, kayaking, kite & wind surfing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, the local farmer’s market, visits to La Paz and a real highlight— swimming with whale-sharks!

Creativity lives inside each of us waiting to be expressed, just as much as our bodies want to move and express freely. Here you get to do both. The three of us are here to help you no matter what level you are–from beginners to seasoned artists and yogis. This ReTreat is dedicated to igniting the creative spark and aliveness within each of you.

Casole d’ Elsa is a charming medieval hilltop town situated in the wonderful countryside around Siena. It’s 44 miles from Florence and 21 from the town of Siena. This course will be held at the Verrocchio Arts Centre, owned and run by British art scholar and sculptor, Nigel Konstam and his wonderful staff including Verrocchio’s own sensational Italian chef. The centre houses your accommodations, painting and sculpture studios, an art library, a slide lecture room, and views of the gorgeous Tuscan countryside.

You get five days of classes with Andrea, Paul and Jenni with one free day for excursions and art viewing. All-inclusive package includes two meals a day (wine included), accommodations on site for single and double rooms (contact us for  details). Day trips to neighboring Siena and San Gimignano (supplemental charges) are just some possible excursions. The town offers a walkable variety of wonderful restaurants and local entertainment.

We’ll start each morning with a wake up class with Jenni and Paul-inspired Evolutionary Yoga offering strengthening, functional and therapeutic yoga poses and principles. The day ends with restorative yoga, meditation, poetry and visualizations to stimulate our creative juices.

You’ll have the opportunity to explore a variety of methods and materials including ink, pastel, water-based paints, collage. Try a new medium or expand your own passion with Andrea, a gifted painter and teacher with a great sense of humor and a great sense of what each student needs. If you like, you can focus on formal issues of drawing and composition, design, formatting and more intuitive approaches to art-making. Or you can discover a more personal voice by interpreting the classically seductive landscape of Casole d’ Elsa and it’s setting. And the light! Oh, the light in Tuscany makes us all want to paint.

Rancho La Puerta is a world-renowned family owned and operated health and fitness spa in operation since 1940. Sitting peacefully at the foot of Mount Kuchumaa, Rancho La Puerta offers dozens of miles of lowland and mountain hiking trails, and four- thousand acres of breathtaking mountain scenery. RANCHO LA PUERTA is located in Tecate, Mexico, just an easy one and a half hour shuttle trip (provided by The Ranch) from the San Diego Airport.

Rancho La Puerta offers a wide array of living accommodations based on your preference. From beautiful single occupancy casitas nestled mountainside, to spectacular two bedroom villas with unobstructed views to the Mexican countryside.

You’ll find us there only during designated specialty Evolutionary Yoga retreats weeks. But you can find our son, Adam Gallo, teaching Evolutionary Yoga and meditation (and a variety of other classes) all during the year.
