For over 25 years Paul Gould has practiced, studied and taught Yoga, movement and meditation. His focus is on a heartfelt alignment with nature, and experiencing Yoga as a way to transform the body and life. In his mindful and intelligent teaching
Paul incorporates an extensive background and experience in Iyengar and Anusara Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Therapy and personal practice based on refining attention and alignment. His current work blends the above with elite trainer Brad Bartanen’s functional training and the Awareness Practice of Zen Buddhist philosophy to morph into his and Jenni’s own Evolutionary Yoga style.
Gifted in introducing beginners to Yoga with a light and disciplined approach, he has helped many experienced students and teachers take their practice and skill to the next level. He had several prior professional careers and holds degrees in economics and fitness training.
He has been teaching Yoga programs geared specifically for men for over fifteen years and initially helped create the Back Care program at Rancho La Puerta (where he continues to be a guest presenting teacher), was among the first advanced certified NIA™ teachers, and is an avid student and practitioner of Zen Buddhist meditation.
With his wife and partner Jenni Fox Paul owns NamaStay™ Retreat in Santa Cruz County and NamaStay Adventures, offering workshops and retreats worldwide as well as daily classes, some for men only, some geared to professionals in business and transition in their lives.
Influenced by his own practice and by many teachers, he’s especially grateful to the teachings of Zen friend Cheri Huber, John Friend, Brad Bartanen, and partner/wife Jenni Fox.
